Badger is typical one of our fauna. This is an average animal with massive stocky body and narrow wedge-shaped head on the short neck, thick muscular paws. Badge’s holes are usually situated on the South slopes of ravine and fluvial terrace. There are a lot of them in Prioksco-Terrace game-preserve, Vologda region, Transcaucasia.

Musk-rat has body length only 20 centimeters and such length of the lepidote tail. All animals’ body is covered with thick silk fur. It goes on foot bad and spends the whole life under water or in its hole that is mined by it out of water.

The largest rodent in the territory of Russia is a beaver. It has got a big family: parents and children of this and last years (about 8 – 12 ones). Beavers build skillfully. Their house is not only the hole, but also the hut built by them, dams and canals. Beavers float building materials but ground and stones bring clasping to their bosom. At the same time they go on two feet leaning on the strong tail. You can cross the river along the beaver’s dam.
